A1 REAL ESTATE

What are agency fees?

The agency fees correspond to the fees of the real estate agent to whom the delegation was made by mandate, in order to carry out the transaction of a property. By this sum he is remunerated for the missions he performs in the interest of his client. They are paid once the sale has been made, when the authentic deed is signed.

The agency fee is calculated by applying a percentage to the sale price. It often varies between 3 and 10% of the price of the property depending on the agency and the property itself. By extension, the higher the value of the property, the higher the agency fees. This is why estate agencies decide to apply degressive fees in stages. Any agency is free to set its fees as it wishes, as long as certain rules are respected regarding the display of these fees.

When using a real estate professional to rent a property, questions may arise about the agency fees charged. These fees relate to the drafting of the inventory of fixtures or the drafting of the lease, for example, but how much is involved in renting a property through an agency?
